Ailanto maintains its identity by once again drawing inspiration from art and nature. This time, the work of American painter Jessie Arms BotKe (1883-1971) serves as the starting point for the Spring/Summer 2018 collection.

Born in Chicago, she studied at the Art Institute. She is known for her studies of exotic birds, including peacocks, cockatoos, toucans, and swans. Arms depicts these birds in natural settings, accompanied by meticulously painted flora with a wealth of detail.

Ailanto recreates Jessie Arms's images, evoking a primeval landscape teeming with vegetation and birds. The mix of prints and textures creates a paradisiacal atmosphere. Brothers Aitor and Iñaki showcase their artistic side in each of their designs, using various mediums. The creation of their own unique and personal fabrics forms the foundation of their collections. Ailanto prints are handcrafted, combining different painting and textile techniques depending on the desired result: watercolor, tempera, pastel, collage, patchwork, embroidery, and stretched threads.
