AILANTO & SARGADELOS

The Sargadelos factory in Sada, A Coruña, has the feel of a dreamlike Bauhaus. Art and craftsmanship are palpable. The entire factory is covered in white, thanks to the chalky kaolin clay, though it's always impeccably clean and orderly, like a laboratory.

Each worker is busy with a manual task; some paint with the delicacy of an entomologist and the steady hand of a surgeon, while others place the handles of jugs and cups with the care that a seamstress would use on a sophisticated evening gown.
