AILANTO & DAC RUGS
The rug collection designed by Ailanto for DAC is a tribute to the work of women at the Bauhaus School. In particular, it honors the work of Gunta Sröltz, artist and director of the textile workshop, and Anni Albers, a designer who innovated with new weaving materials and the use of color.
Thanks to the artists who were part of it, modern art took shape, the avant-garde gained notoriety, and textile designs unseen until that date were developed.
Ailanto rugs are made using the manual hand-tufted technique. They are handcrafted and hand-dyed, resulting in distinctive variations in color and textures from the wool.
